The Wildlife Conservation Enactment 1997

The Wildlife Conservation Enactment (No. 6 of 1997) was gazetted on 24th December 1997. It makes provisions for the conservation and management of wildlife and its habitats in the State of Sabah for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations of the people of the State of Sabah.

Hope that the Wildlife Conservation Enactment will be enforced strictly so that everyone will contribute to the protection of these wildlife.

Stricter fines and jail sentence will be implemented on those who broke the law.

Wildlife conservation is the practice of protecting endangered plant and animal species and their habitats.

Among the goals of wildlife conservation are to ensure that nature will be around for future generations to enjoy and to recognize the importance of wildlife and wilderness lands to humans
