Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said if the proposal was approved,
the allocation for the projects would benefit some 23,000 residents.
"We hope our proposal will be approved to solve the problem of clean
water supply disruptions faced by the residents since three years ago,"
he said after launching the month-long state-level Pesta Kaamatan or
Harvest Festival, here, today.
Earlier, Musa said Sabah was the best role model in the implementation
of the 1Malaysia concept mooted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun
Razak.
He also said that Pesta Kaamatan was the best platform for
strengthening unity among the multiracial population in line with the
concept.
"Clearly, this annual tradition celebrated by the Kadazandusun-Murut
community can promote the uniqueness of the various cultures and local
customs, besides improving the people's socio-economy through programmes
such as the homestay and small and medium industries," he added. --

We are glad that the Local Government is able to work together with the Federal Government to bring more developments to our state.
Agree Alexis, I hope the Federal Government will approve the RM54 million needed to implement this clean water project in Kuala Penyu and Menumbok. These are basic facilities needed by all.
Indeed, its good that the government give opportunity to Kuala Penyu to become the host for Kaamatan Festivities, this will definitely attract many tourist from local and foreign countries alike. Hope that the unique ethnic culture can be promoted through this celebration and boost the relationship among the people.
I hope so too Anak Sabah. I believe the state government will do their best to urge the federal government to allocate the funds. We'll just wait and see.
These festivities are the best occasions to bring people together as well as create more awareness about the local cultures.
